I have been given, yes given, a Big bottle of Glenfiddich single malt whisky and I know it's probably sacrilege to add ice or any kind of other liquid, but how do I drink it?...lying down and sips or what? Ta Muchly.

Many Thanks All!...lol Paddy and 888, but I'll practise and practise, I promise and I think I'll try Lady Alex's tip first. I usually drink blended whisky and have dry ginger and ice with that Gran, but for single malt?...I'll try a smidgen of water.
put another in it

Glenfiddich, although rather commercialised, is a lovely light malt.

It's typica lof the East coast malts, and a sniff, then a mouthful of the neat stuff, followed by a drop of water in the rest of the glass, will be a good intro.

I prefer the West coast malts - Ardbeg or Laphroaig are favourites. They're big hearty drinks, full of peat and cough mixture.

The thing is, enjoy it. If you want your whisky over ice cubes.or with ginger beer - enjoy it!!

There are thousands of opinions, but no hard & fast rules...
Having said that, if you have a bottle of Ardbeg, drink it bareheaded and on your knees...
Such wisdom from everybody. Actually there are some blends that I prefer to Glenfiddich. It is not a whisky to be in awe of but it does deserve a drop of spring water. Slainte mhath! Woodelf
