I want to buy a slow cooker as everyone raves about them but can you put it on and leave it all day while you are out at work,or will it be a fire risk? Thanks,Valeriea.

They're designed to be left on all day, or overnight. There's no risk.
I turn ours on set on low as I leave for work at 08.00 and the stew/casserole is ready and piping hot when I return at 16.30. Yummy!
It's such low power that it's just like leaving a light turned on.
I use mine overnight and never had a problem
I have one, it cooks a stew or a peice of meat while you are out. Follow the instructions, not really a fire hazard as long as you put enough liquid in it. I sometimes put mine on overnight on a low heat.
I've just turned mine on now. Got a piece of smoked ham in it. In the morning I'll cook some leeks and make a white wine sauce. Ham and leek pie for dinner tomorrow
They're excellent Val, after I split with my ex I lived out of my slow cooker for about six years. Chuck every thing in it at night and switch on low when I went out to work in the morning and have a piping hot meal ready and waiting when I came home.
That is the idea of them, to leave them to get on with it. Although I'd be loath to say there is no risk with leaving stuff on. But I'm content to risk my fridge, my freezer, my PC, and other stuff left on. A slow cooker ain't going to be different.
