Will have some leftover cabbage and potatoes, and will have for dinner tomorrow,always wondered why is was called this, as mine does not squeak, also what do you put in yours thats different?
When I make B&S it is usually from cabbage that has been cooked with fried bacon, onion & garlic. I combine the leftovers with some mashed potatoes and a knob of butter and a little extra seasoning. Fry up and serve with sausages and left over gravy.
I usually do way too much food for sunday roast so i can have "bubble n squeek" on monday. As a result, i literally bung everything i have left...potatoes, stuffing, parsnips, sweede, veg...into a blender and pulse it so it's roughly chopped.
It's then formed into patties and shallow fried until the outside is caramalised (new word for burnt !!!)
Every time it's different....sometimes ill add some chicken to it, sometimes so herbs. Nothing goes to waste.
