We had a Chicken Korma Curry for our evening meal made and doctored by mei courtesy of a jar of Korma sauce from Morrisons .Boil in the bag Basmati rice .
It was very tasty .But we just ate it and that as that .
I've been cooking for my family for nearly forty years, although it's now just us two mostly and I also used to cook for a living .I used to enjoy cooking but I find it a total chore these days .
I'm of the generation that can stretch a chicken or joint of meat for a week yet these days I have no motivation and I buy all sorts of ready chopped veg etc . Mainly due to fumble fingers although I'm not an advocate of the ready meal culture either .
Do any of you people of my age (64) get cheesed off with cooking every day and wondering what to cook ? I wish I could win the lottery and not have to worry about it :)

Mr BD has been in hospital for a week (he came home today) and while he was away I think I had one cheese sandwich each day. I never cook - he does all the cooking and does some fantastic meals which I thoroughly enjoy but have no interest in preparing food. The cooker would be covered in dust if it was left up to me.
Shaney - toast, egg and bacon is cooking to me. Couldn't be bothered. He hadn't been home ten minutes and he starts thinking about what to do for our evening meal. We had home made mushroom soup. beef stew with potatoes, sweetcorn and green beans, then apple and plum pie with custard for afters. I just don't get his obsession with cooking but don't mind eating the results.
I don't blame you sherrardk .I had a fussy eater who went veggie aged 16 .It was a nightmare for years .He always had to have something different to the rest the of us ! Until one day he walked in and I had a leg of lamb roasting One sniff and he was back to eating meat .Now he eats anything and everything especially as has to cook it himself unless he wangles a meal over here :)
That's sad for you tamborine.Hope you enjoy your meals these days though x

washing up ? no no no get a dishwasher and remember never do a job that a machine can do for you spend the time saved on yourself.
I am 74 and cook from scratch most days unless we eat out I worked until I was 71 and now retired find that I have time to cook a meal and can take my time. I see nothing wrong in ready meals but I know that my own cooking tastes a bit better .

I am 63 and no, I don't cook a meal every day. But this is mainly because of my ratter15's work shifts and the fact that we aren't always hungry for a larger cooked meal. I still love cooking and baking and I hope that will never change. The only thing that sometimes puts me off is the fact that with two replacement knees and a very damaged back, standing in the kitchen for hours is not easy and sometimes impossible. Also the osteoarthritis in my hands does not help. But I do still love to cook all sorts of dishes from various countries and love the fact that my ratter has a great appetite!
