has anyone tried those roast potato topper thingies, whajamacallits?

i think you shake it over roast pots before you put them in and they're supposed to taste even betterer???

i have a craving for roast pots but with a difference.....

yes i tried the M and S ones and the Schwartz ones. Don't bother.
Make up your own seasoning to go on your potatoes.

I use garlic powder, black pepper and chilli.

i usually use marmite or garlic and rosemary, just fancied a change but if they're crap i won't bother

Must admit, I read this thread with not a lot of interest as I don't think roasties should be messed with, then mamya piped up with marmite. It sounds great, what do you do with the marmite, mamya.

its dead easy you mix the marmite with some oil, toss the potatoes in it and then put in the roasting tray and for the marmite haters, fatty has been eating them for the last year without realising....
Yes gives a lovely depth of flavour.
Very devious fluffy.

not really i just didn;t tell him, he loves them so what would be the point in spoiling it for him now :-)

Ooh I might have to do that too, I love marmite! Don't tend to make roasties though, do you think I could fangle it with sauteed potatoes?
