As for jelly - my Mum always made it for us when we were little. It was delish, especially with Carnation milk.
Nowadays, I make strawberry, raspberry, lime & blackcurrant jelly for when our four Grandchildren visit. I'm sure they would eat it raw, but I don't give them the chance, else they'd be none left to put in the bowl. They take a look in the fridge & can't resist having a prod to see if it's set. They like it with ice cream, but our daughters & I prefer it with Tip Top. Naughty but nice!
You certainly don't have to go to The Lake District to buy Kendal Mint Cake - it's available in every highstreet camping shop I've ever been in.
I used to eat the blocks of unmelted (and therefore unset) jelly if that's what you mean by "raw"? Roundtree's used to make little packets of rectangles of jelly cubes. Lovely. Blackcurrent was my favourite, followed by lemon, followe by lime. Fact.
