Having watched both their programmes yesterday, give me Gordon every time - at least he is a proven chef rather than someone whose sole raison d'etre is to be some simpering sex-symbol. And she can't cook either - chips put into cold oil - yuk, no wonder she needs to drain them on parchment paper.

Can't stand either, but if it's a straight choice between them, then it's Gordon.
I prefer the Hairy Bikers, they have a sense of humour.
Gordon. I love him, for his cooking skills!! How women find him attractive is beyond me. I watch ALL his prgrammes though.
Nigella- I find her food pretty damned nice and at least she enjoys cooking, Gordon Ramsay is just...euggggh, he literally makes my flesh crawl and because of the way he thinks he can behave Gordon is on my list of people to smack in the face if he's ever unlucky enough to cross my path- hate the ignorant pig of a man:-)
Lol....that's exactly why I like him :-)

Nigella cooks food. Gordon is a chef.
Gordon's restaurants are always good, starting with The Aubergine ... best fois gras EVER !

(although he did once get caught stocking some pre packed food in one of his restaurants)

So I'd say Gordon.
i'm with ummm second sentence. gordon really is a chef.
He went off on a mega rant when he closed his Glasgow restaurant.
Rude git.
I once ate at Petrus Jayne and to be honest I didn't think it was all that, but then it wasn't that expensive but it left me with the feeling the operates an Emporor's New Clothes outfit for folk who've seen him 'ont telly', whereby if you like it and are aweed by him great that's what he wants, but if you don't like it you'll be accused of not being sophisticated enough to ' get it'. I found it a bit tedious tbh and avoided his other gaffs since.
don't know why he feels the need to rant. other chefs don't. yes things can get tense in a kitchen but not really necessary to rant and rave i shouln't think.
Nigella all the way, she cooks food I'd eat and actually attempt to do at home. Can't watch Gordon, he makes my skin crawl although I would watch if someone actually drops the prat on his arse.
I read somewhere that the TV station/network in the U.S. weren't going to do anymore of his Hell's Kitchen etc programmes as they felt that America has had enough of him.
So has Glasgow after he insulted them and the city.
It makes no difference whether someone is a cook or a chef-I prefer someone who comes across as loving food...so it's Nigella for me. I'll watch Ramsey-but he seems too up himself.
Nigella - the food-porn 'spoon licking' shtick is embarrassing, but her recipes actually work and seem 'do-able' by ordinary people in household kitchens (and me).
I've worked in kitchens. Chefs rant....part of the job, I think.
If I want a good (and easy) recipe I always google BBC Good Food site. No point in watching food programmes, they are always too exotic for me. Today I am cooking stuffed marrow (glut of marrows as usual this time of year) and have downloaded their recipe. Easy-peasy and I have all the ingredients in my cupboard. And I know it will be tasty.
A Cook cooks food, a Chef is just a Boss. The bloke over the road from me is the Chef of the Railway Station !
neither, i prefer The hairy bikers, at least they look like they enjoy what they are doing, and having a laugh along the way, Gordon looks like a shar pei, and as to Nigella, don't like her at all.
I adore Gordon. Both for his cooking and I think he's hot lol. I don't really rate his restaurants though. The only one I liked and visited often was Amaryllis, it's a shame it closed.
I like Nigella too and have all her books but I agree that the difference between them is huge because he is a chef and she is someone who just loves food and cooking.
ive gone off both of them

love the hairy bikers though
Sorry does Nigella cook ? Never noticed what she's doing.

Anyway different programmes target different audiences. Both have good points. They may cook for me any day they wish. I'll open up a window in the diary just for them.
