They could be years old. I wouldn't risk eating them based on your description but I'm not an expert on cocunuts
I wouldn't eat them. Coconut flesh should be crisp and white, with clear milk inside. If there was no milk there may have been a crack in the shell so decay has set in.
I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts, they're nothing like you describe. Put them in the bin.
Morning boxtops - that sounds right to me. (By the way, I'm off to court in a minute to act as a character witness...)
LOL factor, take your laptop with you to pass the time, you might have to research...

.. also charliesteve, normally you win coconuts at the fairground - if they were selling them off, you can bet they were ancient stock.
I agree again ,boxtops. (By the way, I've got a good seat- within spitting distance of the accused and the judge)
LOL, don't forget some tissues (and a bit of shag pile carpet)

(sorry charlie, we are digressing but it's fun..)
Bin them. They are obviously old.Fresh coconuts should have pure white flesh inside. The one you describe is mouldy.
You've never seen the episode of the mighty boosh where they eat rancid coconuts then???who do you think would win a fight? Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Nesbitt.. What about Face from the A-team fighting Robin Cousins.... What about Bernard Cribbins fighting Salvador Dali? It's gotta be Cribbins. Thats the conversation you'll be having if you eat them.
don;t eat them not unless you fancy a massive case of the trotskies
