2 Course Dinner
66 Answers
Hi guys.
I need suggestions / inspiration for dinner Saturday night. I want to do something really special - a starter and main (don't like Pud).
I would like to do red meat for main but have no preference when it comes to the starter.
Thanks xxx

Boil the new potatoes, lightly crush and put in a roasting tray with rosemary, thyme, salt and black pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and roast until nice a crisp (I sometimes add garlic as well). A nice crisp salad on the side.
I'm a fan of boulangere potatoes, convenient as they can be prepped in advance and forgiving because they can keep warm for ages.
If you are going down the venison route, beetroot goes nicely with it roasted and then finished with a little balsamic vinegar.
Or you could do a roast beetroot and goasts cheese salad with caramlised walnuts all served on winter leaves.
