Anyone else fed up with Jamie's 15 minute meals? Everything whizzed through the food processor, expensive cuts of meat and more asparagus each week than I get through in a year. All the dishes end up very same-y. And as for the time factor - just don't get me started! Please can someone do a "slow meal" series?

Just because they can be done in 15 minutes doesn't mean you have to.

I've done a few of them. They are quick and easy.

What I don't like is him serving it up on a board.
What I'm fed up with is the fact the obnoxious little boy is on TV for 30 minutes talking about a 15 minute meal.
The bit I don't get is why they can never be served on plates, but have to be strewn around planks of wood.
Why is he obnoxious?

I like him...
I like him but if I used that much lemon juice, would have perpetual heartburn.
He uses too much lemon and olive oil. James Martin uses too much butter.
''but have to be strewn around planks of wood''

Ceramics are so last year. You'll be wanting steel cutlery next I suppose rather than 2 large splinters of driftwood...
"He uses too much lemon and olive oil"
You can never use too much lemon juice and olive oil!
he annoys me, mostly when he says, 'I'm cooking this (vegetable, spice, salad ingredient etc), because it looks good on the plate'. I don't care what it looks like, I'm just here for the eating! And his boyish charm just isn't charming. I call him Boring Oliver. Dull and bland dishes. Thats my opinion, I understand that most people like him and/or his food, and therefore tasy to most otherwise he wouldn't be where he is today
Yes you can if you're not keen. I wouldn't dream of pouring oil onto my food like he does.
He has to use that much oil... so what he eats can slide past that huge tongue...
Balders, your talents are wasted on here. Your post was, nearly, but not quite, as good as my 2 for the price of 3
I like the lad in small doses, much prefer him to G. R.
and as for a slow meal, diddlydo, there was a show, the name of which escapes me, possibly," help me I am totally inept". They put up brackets for people who have no idea as to which end of a screwdriver to blow down.
The cooking bit came as a shoulder of lamb cooked for six hours, with all the veg. Numpty was still worried that her hubby might think it was underdone.
Snags...lol
He was on The One Show the other night and viewers had rung in/emailed in, to say that they took much longer than 15 mins, and he said that the time didnt include prepping anything, so it doesnt start till you have chopped/peeled/sliced it all. Well thats what he said anyway lol.
It will take longer until you no longer have to follow the recipe.
His wife always looks really miserable... face like a dropped meat pie.
I've not watched the 15 minute meals programmes but have the 30 minute meals recipe book. The ones I've done are really nice but I don't rush round trying to do them in 30minutes, I just take as long as it takes me.
I agree with ummmm, just because they can be done in 15 or 30 minutes doesn't mean they have to be, just enjoy the recipes.
It will take longer until you no longer have to follow the recipe.

It also takes longer if you keep peeping at the comp to see if anyone has added an answer ....................
lol snags
Added an answer to what? I write recipes down in my little book and cross them out if they are not worth the hassle.
