I've just been watching Masterchef and one of the chef's recipes included "picked peas". What else would you do with peas? I was waiting for one to say he was making "killed chicken".
I am no chef and am probably showing my ignorance but what is the alternative to "picked peas"?
The first encounter a diner has with their food is the menu. Consequently the chef will want to go to great lengths to describe the food and make it sound as appealing as possible. Unfortunately this often involves overly complex explanations, tautological descriptions and my bug bear.....spelling errors.
