My OH isn't too keen on risotto, which is one of my favourites, but loves paella. Having looked at various recipes for both, I decided to make a risotto but added turmeric to get yellow rice and threw in some prawns, called it 'paella' and guess what? OH thought it was delicious and ate the lot. You can fool some of the people some of the time.....
Obtaining approbation by deception is an offence.
You do not have to say anything unless you wish to do so but it may harm your defence if you fail to mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything that you do say will be written down and use in evidence.
Possibly, but I used arborio rice which gave the desired result.
BTW, shoota - had to look up the meaning of 'approbation' Please desist from using such long words in the future!
Sorry, but paella rice and risotto rice are completely different and turmeric should never go anywhere near something that's supposed to be paella or risotto. Call it what you like but what you describe is neither paella nor risotto.
Well done, diddlydo, you are probably a great cook and picked me up on my basic error. However, sometimes I need to make a meal out of whatever is in the fridge/cupboard and trying to please my picky OH (who doesn't cook but is good at other things!) isn't always easy! Please can I come round to yours for a real risotto?
