Is it ok to make soup without cream? Does it taste watery?

I have lots and lots (and lots) of veg, so I was thinking this would be a good idea to use it up.

What soups can be made without cream, does anyone do this?

Virtually any, if you don't have premade stock then use cubes, season well and it won't be watery. x

plastic containers from local poundshop, 4 for errr a £!
Blimey, a fiver for bags ya throw away shaney? Must be made of money lass! ;-)

Buy some Poundland specials, 10 takeaway type plastic tubs for....guess!
oh, GMTA Alba! Get only4 for your quid now do you? Robbing gits!
You can make Potage Bonne Femme without any cream or stock!
I sweat some potatoes, carrots, onions and leeks in a pan, then I season them when they are beginning to soften, then I add some stock or water and let the whole thing bubble away until the veggies are cooked. When that's done I get the "outboard motor" (hand blender) and blitz but not until it's completely smooth, it's nice to have some bits of veg to bite on. If I have some leftover cooked veg I usually bung that in too.
You can also make potato and leek soup using milk instead of cream
I've just bought some of those today B00. Ideal for soup or ice cream
I never put cream in mine either. I do keep a container of "soup mix". You can buy it in all the supermarkets - I thinks it's with the OXOs and stuffing etc. It's a nice mix of pulses and lentils. Throw in a good handful with your other veg and it helps thicken it too. mmmm now I'm hungry:-(
Gotta admit, I havent bought any for ages, I reuse the Chinese chippy's ones Mr Boo gets his curry in :-)
I just think they take up less room in the freezer .And you can use them for other stuff ,not just soup .
Sorry :(
lol, love ya still shaney, stop sulking:P
I'm not sulking .Have you ever known me to sulk :)
Love you too xx

The home made broccoli and potatoe soup I make I put a dash of cream in. To really get the taste buds working over time! Delicious
Same as B00 - I use the takeaway containers, which are also very handy for packed lunches as well.

I've used some plastic tubs, which seem to do the job.
I'm just wondering how I go about heating it up though? How do I get it out of the tub and into a pan, or do I just leave it out at room temperature to thaw?
Defrost in microwave then heat as per your favourite method.

That's the problem. I don't have a microwave :-/
Then let it defrost naturally.
I hardly ever use cream.
Question Author
Well that's what I was asking, is it ok to do that, it won't go funny or anything?

I must say, I'm so surprised at the whole 'I don't use cream' thing. I've learnt something new today.
I'm surprised you have managed to get into your 50's without knowing this.
Ditto for a 'creamy' curry

Take portion out, liquidise, stir back in later.
