Heinz Tomato Soup

Having read Smowball's Cold Meal thread I've realised I am cold and want something warming for lunch.

I have heated up a bowl of Heinz tomato soup and it has taken me back to my childhood when my Mother would give it to me for lunch when I was off school sick.

It bears no relation to real tomato soup but it is so comforting!

No real question but feel free to share what food brings you comfort.

Mashed up hard boiled egg with butter...warm in a cup with tea spoon.....when we were little and I'll not wanting to eat....dad would give us this !!

Hot buttered toast and toasted teacakes.

Heinz tomato soup with bread and butter followed by cheese on toast.

When money was tight, mum got a large tin of veggy soup, Heinz, and made dumplings to go in it fed 3 of us.

I agree - don't know how they have the nerve to call in "tomato" Disgusting, as is all commercial soup. Only home-made soup for me.

Heinz tomato soup is a firm fav here. I have to do six tins at a time. I have seen a recipe for bread (crusts off & flattened), cheese on top, roll up and put in the oven - going to do it next time for the kids to dip in their soup.
