Has anyone ever noticed a smell of 'damp dog' from a freshly poured glass of water? (Scottish drinking water) If so, what is it?

Are you thinking we may have contamination from incorrect methods? Or are you just taking the p***?

I'd suspect a 'tongue in cheek' suggestion. But who knows ....
If it is still the case you are having issues, did you try the run for a bit suggestion ? How is the water at your neigbours ? If theirs is fine then it might suggest something in your tank or pipes. If theirs is also problematic then you could contat the water board as a group.
Or maybe your sense of smell is having an issue ?

I have just answered your other question about pH. Scottish water is low pH , that is why you get the peat stain in some areas. But it will still be around 5.5
You could try one of those water filters , get one with charcoal which will remove colour and odour . Would work better than trying to increase the pH.
