Salad Cream?

I can make mayonnaise and ali oli, but need to make salad cream. Everytime I add vinegar, it goes all runny, any ideas??

we do buy it, but at £5 a bottle it's expensive, and there is none on this side of the island atm!

Can't get white wine vinegar here, I guess the normal brown vinegar will be OK?

It will have to be brown can't get white here and I'll have to whiz up the sugar to make it caster, in fact there's a lot I'll have to change, ie maybe single whipping cream? Can get eggs here and have just hard boiled 4 so that's lucky.

We eat a lot of mayo but sometimes you need salad cream.

The home made salad cream was a hit, Mr N didn't notice the difference especially as I had put it in an old salad cream bottle, excellent, thank you, but he'll want me to make it in future instead of buying it! :-(
