put them in a bowl of water, if they float, they're fine, if they sink, get rid.

crack one open into a cup. and smell it !!!!!!!
I thought other way round? If they float, they've gone off?
alba, it's the other way round... how many eggs have you thrown out like that??? :-)
I usually get things back to front pixie, :-)

Thought if their air sac was intact it made them float if they were fresh?
I wasn't sure. I thought the air sac got bigger as it went off
hah, see, back to front as usual :-D

Don't ask me the difference between tax avoidance and tax evasion, got that wrong on a different thread a couple of years ago too :-D
Mandimoo's eggs are probably hard-boiled by now anyway:-\
Tax avoidance is legal
tax evasion illegal
They'll be fine. My granny used to keep eggs on the mantlepiece in a hot kitchen - no fridges for her. They were always fine.
I'd never assume they are fine. Test them...if they float, ditch them.
They came out of a warm chicken, didn't they ? Eggs last in my cupboard ( not fridge) for weeks. Bad eggs can be smelled through the shell without breaking them.
