On of Mr BM's mates is having a bit of a tough time, so I am cooking him supper tonight (as Mr BM said, only to make his misery complete).

What is good "Man food" - apart from the ubiquitous steak. He's got one hell of an appetite too.

Try some curry mayo for the prawns - simply put a dob of mayo in a bowl and mix in curry powder until you hit the strength that suits.
It goes a mucky off white but tastes fantastic.....
mixed grills are difficult to make ?
Yes, if you have guests. Steak, chops, kidneys, gammon plus extras like toms, mushrooms, chip etc. Then what about if everyone wants their meats cooked differently...
I agree with ummmmmmm.
None of the components of a mixed grill are difficult, it's the coordinating of cooking all the different bits and pieces, blooming nightmare if you're doing it for guests. Nothing can really be cooked in advance either. It's not a meal I personally would ever do for guests.
He's not related to the Muslim people you were planning to cook for, before, is he, BM? if so you might need to check what he can eat in your house.... (and it IS still Ramadan)
