It is amazing that somebody like him does not know that mainly cows are bred for milk and the male of the species are used beef products that we see in the shops

"Cow" is the general name for the species, even though it's female (like duck, gander etc). Of all the objections to it, nobody's protested that it might be the wrong sex.
Given the utter tastelessness of burgers, yes, why not. Just not from McDonald's though.

Ermm - Actually much of the beef in the UK is grown from Beef Herds, and they are fed on Barley and Grain. Those cattle from the dairy herd that are used for Beef are also bulked up using Barley/ Grain feeding protocols.
