I've now, just harvested the first of my sunflower heads and have some good size black & white striped seeds.
I'm planning on roasting some in the oven, to make some snacks but would welcome any other ways of preparing and eating them.
Thank you TIA

Make your own sunflower seed butter. Toast seeds, grind to a powder(use a coffee or spice grinder),add olive/ sunflower oil til it is the consistancy of peanut butter. Add a bit of salt if desired. Nice on oatcakes

Thank's Tinker,
I've tried the basic roasting with sea salt and a little s/f oil so far, which made a good snack but a long fiddly process doing the shelling of the small seeds to remove the kernels.
One lesson I learnt was that patience is a virtue and luckily I had left some of the flower heads to mature for another couple of weeks, resulting in much larder seeds.
These larger seeds will definately be destined as a bread ingredient.
