Fish and Chip Shops

Why do the majority of Fish and Chip shops in Great Britain seem to run by Greeks. Whilst in Athens I couldn't find a chippy anywhere!

Most of the ones where I live are run by Turks, but I don't care cos they do lovely kebabs and pizzas as well as ordinary fish & chips - and they're open longer than traditional chippies!

They are run mostly by Brits here in Devon, Im sure there are also foreign people running them as well.

When I lived in Hales Owen the chippy there was run by a Greek Cypriot, and his chips were bl@@dy wonderful. No idea if he's still there. He was a devoted W.B.A. supporter ( there's always one somewhere!!
