Does anyone have one of these? Or seen one in use? Or been in the same room as one??
Son and daughter in law have been hankering after one and are arranging a home demonstration to coincide with a visit from me so I can be involved too.

£885? That's a great deal of money for a blender.
You'd need to take out a second mortgage to buy one!

///Is this the only kitchen gadget you'll ever need? It may cost £885 but it can chop, mix AND cook a fancy three-course meal - and even do the washing up///

I can do all of that, for half the price!

I have one, I like it and do use it but am still not convinced it is worth the money.

What sort of things do you use it for eccles? I'm intrigued by the whole contraption to be honest and had never heard of it until they mentioned last year that they were contemplating buying one.
They both enjoy cooking, and the cost isn't a problem for them, I just wonder if it's going to end up a rather expensive gadget gathering dust in the kitchen...not that I'd ever say that to them ;)
It's the selling technique that I'm suspicious of.....can't be bought in a shop, catalogue or online. Only after a home demonstration...which means it's worth less than half the asking price, IMO.
.....meant to add...expect a VERY hard sell!
It is good for temperature sensitive things and for blitzing stuff.

I use it mostly for sauces, i.e, custards, emulsions, reductions.

I didn't buy mine but share Gingebee's concerns about the selling technique.

It's not something I would even briefly contemplate buying myself.
They've been looking into it for about a year now, they're very canny people and I'd be extremely surprised if anyone managed to sell them anything they didn't actually want. They themselves got in touch with thermomix rather than the other way round so it's not like cold call selling although I do appreciate what you're saying.
I just wonder how they actually see themselves using it day to day, I'm very curious and will be very interested to be there when the home demo is done.
