'Coke' is just sugar in water, boil off the water and you are left with the sugar. Keep heating and it will form caramel and then start to burn to Carbon until it resembles the type of 'coke' you burn in a fire place similar to charcoal.

Great for cleaning brasses whilst in the army. Just leave them overnight in a glass of coke and wipe them dry in the morning. Shine like the sun and saved a fortune on Duraglit:-)
Shock horror. Sweet fizz contains sugar (or sweetener) and if you boil off the water you get the ingredients that flavour the product, left behind (possibly).
Doesn't look yuk to me. Reminds me of black treacle or molasses. But if trying to reduce weight always read the label.
