is the one that turns orange/yellow a swede. And do you cook it just like mash(potatoes) I've done all those 'root' vegetables in a stew but just fancy some mashed. I think you can buy it ready cooked, is that any good?

You can buy it ready cooked and mashed. Just needs microwaving. Much easier than peeling, chopping and cooking a swede. And tastes just as good, I'm told. (I don't like it, myself)

If you've ever had 'haggis, neeps and tatties', you'll know that the 'neeps' are yellow/orangish. (If you've not had haggis, neeps and tatties your culinary experience is sadly lacking!). Those 'neeps' are actually swedes (and not, as some people think, 'turneeps').
