No. It's easy. You just put in in the microwave, turn it on for a bit, and voila !
Nope.
No you can reheat it. never heard of vinegar in soup though.
I can think of no reason why not.

Many many ready meals and homemade meals contain both and I am not aware of anyone keeling over due to the onions or vinegar in the recipe.

What does she beleive the problem to be?
My mum used to have a thing about re- heating things with onions in. She claimed they went sour and were not fit to eat.
Not true. Follow O-G instructions.
I do it all the time, though have learnt not to add cold water to hot veg soup it goes sour. Not nice.
No problem whatsoever. So she's never considered all the millions of portions of homemade soup that get frozen every year...? ;-)

I used to make a Spanish chickpea soup that had vinegar in it...it was yummy.
Never heard of vinegar in soup but you certainly re-heat soup containing onions. I do it all the time. No problems.
I was told you can't reheat rice either. Often do though when we have left-over Chinese-take-away.
A tiny bit of vinaigre in soup and gravy just lifts the flavour -and of course you can reheat soup with onions or vinaigre. I blanche chopped onions and freeze them in portions so if I need to add some they are ready prepared -they saute up lovely
I do it all the time and I'm still here. So I guess it's OK.

Rice, however, I'm not so sure about. Need to be a bit careful.

Thanks for the link SeaJay Pea. I'll be more careful.
I reheat rice. It's the quick cooling into the refrigerator, and reheating thoroughly, which is the important bit.
Vinegar and onions in soup? You betcha... one of our favorites, especially in the fast approaching winter, is Traditional Northern Chinese Hot and Sour soup. Lotsa vinegar with some onions and a bunch of other ingredients... and it only gets better with age... (unlike some on this site).

The secret to really good hot and sour is the Wood Ear mushrooms and Chinese Hot Chili Oil (plenty of unflavored tofu doesn't hurt the texture either

I won't tell her she's wrong though! - Got told off today for using the remains of a yellow & red pepper in my soup!! 'Going to stop buying peppers if you're going to eat them' !!!?*#¥~
