passing through stansted airport duty-free, i noticed in the corner of my eye a rare whiskey section. pride of place was a 40 year old Brora, cost 6,999 quid, i kid you not. So i googled rare whiskeys, you wouldn´t beleived some of the prices.

Surely you buy that stuff by the case ?
Two if you want to try some.
Like many other things, its only worth what someone will pay for it. I like a canadian maple finished whisky. My sis brings it back from the US for me and it costs her about $22 for a litre. When its available in the Uk, its around 66 quid a bottle, not a litre

janbee, my bank account didnt stretch that far. Funny enough the salesman did his best to convince me it would be a good investment, saying its more precious than gold!! he reckoned that a bottle bought today for 7,000 would fetch more than 10,000 by the following day. was almost tempted
That 7 grand must include the shop mark-up, normally 50%.
if you don't know what to buy me for christmas a bottle of brora will have to do, thank you
