None of those DD. I HATE mince pies.
I was in a restaurant this week and one of the items on the dessert menu was mince pie cheesecake. ... why?

It's like boxed dates. People buy them at Chrsitams, but who ever eats them? They were Eat Me dates, all sticky and gluey and they came with a little wooden fork. The box lay around the house like a little coffin and then in January, was always chucked out. Hey presto though, next year they were bought again.

make my own pastry, buy luxury mincemeat then add extra brandy and glace cherries. Freeze them filled but uncooked and cook as and when needed.

I love fresh dates! take the stone out, make little 'stones' out of marzipan and put them back in the date and half cover in dark chocolate -yum!

Normally (d), but this year have made my own mincemeat (recipe includes finely chopped crystallised ginger, whisky and nuts) and used ready-to-use pastry. They are yummy - so much better than shop bought!

For those who make their mincemeat do you all use suet?

The recipe I used stated 'grated butter or suet'. I didn't have suet so used butter instead. Butter came straight out of fridge so was easy to grate.
