I've got lamb casserole in the slow cooker, Sliced potatoes on bottom, carrots, onions ,celery and shoulder of lamb on top,sliced potatoes on top of that covered in gravy made from lamb stock.
Sounds heavenly Kate. Did the same recently with my new slow cooker (from Father Christmas) but the dumplings didn't turn out too well. Not as nice as when done in the normal oven. How long do you cook yours for? Fish and chips for us tonight!

I usually put the stew and dumplings into the oven for the last 20 minutes to make the dumplings brown on top, although I have an old fashioned crock pot with a ceramic pot which will go in the oven.
