and wish you were them? or like them? Obviously we don't know what their situation is and if they are having a bad time. Its just when you see people from the outside and you thing wish i was her/him/them? i do.

i suspect that if we were all to take our troubles and put them in a big pile and then chose which ones to have, we'd probably all chose our own.

I used to envy couples when I was younger but not now - just lead your own life and make the best of what you have.

I know a lot of people who saw me and my last partner as been the 'ultimate' lovey dovey couple. They didnt see the arguements and disagreements that led to our breakdown. Quiet a few people were surprised when we split.

We had neighbours who on the surface had it all:huge house beautiful cars exotic holidays money no object. I was very envious until I got to know them and realised the wife had a horrible life which bordered on domestic abuse.

I love looking at people generally, now I could look at a couple as you do and wish I was in a relationship like them, but then I could turn my thoughts around and think - if they're in a cafe or sitting on a bench in a park, peep in conversation, they could be discussing their little to nothing finances, problems with in-laws, waiting for results from a hospital of their sick child...I could think many scenarios and then I walk away or they do and I'm happy to think on of my lot and know I have a carefree life. I don't think all couples have problems,but I don't think what they portray in public is the whole story.

I want lots of different things in my world. I want Martin Clunes' farm & shire horses (but not Martin Clunes - although I'm sure he is a lovely bloke). I want Idris Elba in my bed and Johnny Depp's money.

Sorry, not a couples thing, I have occasionally wished I could have a life like David Attenborough, Robson Green and their like who travel the planet and see wonderful things.

I haven't been in a relationship for 16 years and I'm in no hurry for another one. However, I wish that I looked like someone else, just about anyone else, on a daily basis.
