Are they actually sweet potatoes or are they yams?
Here in the U.S. the orange vegetables usually referred to as sweet potatoes are actually yams and are a lot sweeter than our real sweet potatoes. We usually have them (Yams) topped with a teaspoon of real butter and a goodly sprinkle of brown sugar. In the summer we grill them until the skins literally fall off and serve them as sides to the meat of the day... usually a 12-14 ounce thick cut ribeye steak (medium rare, thank you) and Mrs. C's hearts of romaine salad...
Actual sweet potatoes are more plentiful at our Thanksgiving feasts in late November...
