I am watching Rick Stein's India and there are dishes with silver in them.
Has anyone ever eaten silver and if so what does it taste like ?

like when a tiny bit of aluminium gets in your mouth ?
yes, 40 (!) years ago when I lived in Bristol, there was a very nice Indian restaurant near where we lived on Whiteladies road (up the top, towards the suspension bridge end) that served its curries with a small piece of real silver leaf on. It was supposed to be healthy. It didn't taste of anything really, even if you tasted it on its own. It is so thin that it just melts away in the mouth.
we buy indian sweets that have silver leaf on it and it doesn't taste of anything, its so thin like mentioned already it melts in the mouth but I've never seen it used in curries
