I cooked some rice this morning to use in a dish for dinner this evening.
As soon as it was cooked I put it in the fridge. I cooked the meal with it but made far too much for two of us and there's quite a bit left over. I'm not good at portions for two and still think I'm cooking for a family.
Can I reheat it tomorrow or would it be better eaten cold .It's just a nasi goreng type thing with prawns ,chicken and veg .Or shall I chuck it ?
I'm never sure with rice .

If you have kept it in the fridge it should be fine for a few days. Only reheat it once though.
you can also freeze it and then stir fry it from frozen. I love Nasi Goreng.
in hot oil fry a chopped onion then add an egg, scramble it in the pan then add the cold rice, stir fry it all for a few minutes, add S&P and a splash of soy sauce, serve. Delicious egg fried rice, enjoy.
Concur. It was/will be in the fridge, it'll be fine.
My DIL cooks rice in batches and uses it up gradually over a few days - just reheat as much as you need. She's Chinese so knows about rice.

Thanks everyone.
I think we'll have it cold for lunch .It's already been boiled then fried in with the chicken etc .
Mrs sqad........it will last in the fridge for 24 hours and safe to reheat.......as long as it is well reheated.

Thanks Sqad and Mrs Sqad .
I wouldn't normally fuss over it for myself and would just reheat and eat but I have to be careful with Mr.S's digestive system these days .Upset tums are not pleasant for him.
^^^ I quite understand.
/She's Chinese so knows about rice./

That has to be the most funniest generalisations I've read this week! I have a few chinese friends who can hardly boil an egg tho admittedly the other 80% are wizards in the kitchen but thanks for the laugh :)
I reheat rice in the microwave - nobody's ill yet :-)
I have been known to mix in a tin of tiptop or evap and some sugar and nutmeg and eat it as a pudding.
