Quarter Pound Beefburgers

Can anyone suggest where I can buy quarter pounder beefburgers of the same shape that I receive when I order a beefburger in a bun from my local takeaway? Birds Eye quarter pounders and the like are invariably of a reduced diameter but thicker than the takeaway ones. I want to buy the larger diameter but thinner type of beefburger if you see what I mean.

Have you thought of making your own?
you can roll out most unfrozen beef burgers between two sheet of cling film to get a thinner bigger burger. do it in stages pressing down just enough to make it flatten a little more each time. press too hard and they will crack.....but I agree with Smow, make your own.
Have you thought of squashing them?
I always make my own and also freeze them. Can make them as thick or thin as you like!
Or smashing the Birdseye ones with a hammer?
I do as Woof and The Chair say - pop them in a lightly floured poly bag and roll to required thickness carefully.
I make my own and with the right ingredients makes any bought ones poor by comparison. Why not give it a go?
always make my own, takes 10 mins..so much nicer..and you know what you are eating..more importantly
I, too, make my own. I know what's in them and I can make them to suit who's going to eat them. smaller for wee lads and lasses, to big ones for gannets like me. ;o} Easy to do and don't take very long at all. Use the tips you've been given on here, rolling them out etc.

Enjoy both making and eating them.

I must admit I was looking to buy flatter frozen beefburgers when I posted here earlier this morning, but the way forward might well be to buy fresh burgers and flatten them as per your advice! I think I'll give it a go and see how I get on. I take it that I can freeze any unused beefburgers I make this way? What's the maximum time I could keep them frozen before eating?

I'm off out shortly to buy some beef mince to try to make my own!
^^^if I were going down that route, I'd make sure the burgers were good quality....I can recommend Waitrose Aberdeen Angus versions. Make sure you don't handle them (use utensils) ...and they usually say "freeze for up to a month"...but they'll be fine for 3 months+ imo.
the marks ones are good too...not the aberdeen angus ones but the ultimate steak burgers. I buy them when they are on offer and freeze them sometimes for as long as six months
I use burger seasoning in mine with egg to help bind them. I put grated onion in along with chili flakes to jazz them up. I have no problem freezing them and I have found that they stay together better if they are cooked from chilled at the very least. I have had success cooking them on the BBQ from frozen but if they are to thick there is a danger they will not cook properly. Good luck.
i like the marks ones, i cut them in half and flatten then out and have two flatter burgers with loads of cheese instead of the one bigger one
Sorry meant to say that any mince meat works so you can do chicken,lamb etc etc
our local butchers have fabulous ones - they sell them 4" and 5" in size and not too think - I can't eat thick meat etc.
