I took my cousin for dinner and she picked two thick bacon chops with a white sauce. She loved them. I have perused the hotel's menu but can'find the white sauce. Would it have been mustard or would anyone know of a tasty white sauce. Thanks
It's most likely to be White Stilton sauce. Lots of recipes online. Tt does not taste particularly cheesy and its commonly used on meat dishes especially bacon. I first tasted in on a dish called Chicken Llangynidr in a pub in Crickhowell. Llangynidr is a local village.
Hmm. I doubt it was parsley sauce bednobs. The taste is quite distinctive and I'm certain the OP would have mentioned it. Besides, there's no mention of green pieces floating around, just white sauce. I've never had parsley sauce without pieces of parsley floating around.
Similarly, you can taste the cider in cider sauce Islay. No mention of it in the OP.
I , without knowing Conne..would make a basic white sauce..use a smoked bacon...dice ed and sweated down in pan with shredded leek..blitz it in blender if you want a smoothie..add to white sauce with mist to taste..pour over chops and oven bake...
