Aldi's seabass fillets,cauliflower couscous,butternut squash. Think there's some white zinfandel that needs drinking.;-)
Pumpernickel, spread with cream cheese mixed with a dash of horseradish, paprika and pepper. Topped with smoked salmon and a squeeze of lemon juice.

White Zinfandel...now there's one of the very few wines I don't like, the rest I'd scoff.
That's not a meal Eccles, that would be counted as a snack in this establishment.

I always thought that scampi was just fried prawns. Seems not, any bit of fish will do. Remember when pub meals first came out? It was either scampi or chicken with peas and chips in a basket.

Homemade beef burgers homemade wedges, salad. Rosé.

Steak and Kidney Pie, with sweet corn and roast potatoes. Mandarin oranges and ice cream for afters !
Scampi are either Dublin Bay prawns ( Langoustines ) or they are nothing.

Beware of any place that promises you Scampi but can't guarantee the above....its bloody fraud !
Braised pork chops, red cabbage and mashed potatoes, mashed because I forgot about them.

I've been spoiled with two weeks of Portuguese food/cooking -

- home yesterday, so I may try to recreate the mood with sardines on toast, but it probably won't work :(
We will have hot steamed potatoes and hot flan. It won't all be cold. Just the ham, the salad and the coleslaw.
