A lot of money for what is basically a small piece of caramelized onion.
Garlic is a member of the onion family and I can't see there being much difference after several weeks heating !
Incidentally, for years I was plagued with colds which later developed into chest infections. Then I read an article which stated that chewing half a clove of raw garlic per day could keep these at bay. I'm not one for old wives' tales but decided to try it. The last time I had a cold was in 2004.
