I am 70(sorry to keep repeating that) For the last 20 years we drank skimmed milk, about 5 years ago we changed to semi~skimmed. We like the more creamy taste of semi~skimmed. We now are thinking of changing to Whole Milk.
Does anyone have any opinions as to benefits or otherwise for someone our age,or doesn't it really make much difference?

Drink whichever you prefer. (Especially at 70, life is too short to worry about worrying how creamy your milk should be.)

I've always used full fat milk. The difference in calorie intake is negligible but the extra goodness is worth it. It boils down to a matter of taste. Or boils over if you don't watch it :-)
taste it. If you like it, do it. I doubt the minimal difference in calories is going to kill you, and milk does have benefits.

If you don't like it, then gin...
It doesn't make any difference.

"We like the more creamy taste of semi~skimmed."

So why change?
Full Fat Milk is now deemed to be Healthy; as are a lot of 'fatty foods'.

Hans.
yes Hans I believe one day we'll find out butter is better than fake stuff and white sugar is better than fake stuff
I definitely agree with Prudie. The less refined or processed a food is, the better.

I'd have butter over some weird vegan factory manufactured spreadable plastic any day.
I've always had skimmed, UHT in a carton has more of a taste to it than other skimmed. But, as I keep having falls, and have got cancer (sorry if I keep saying that) I'm thinking I ought to change to semi. It's only a matter of time before I break a hip when I hit the deck :(

Baths is it not good that you have put weight on? My friends that have gone through such treatment lost horrendous amounts of weight and was told they needed to put it on.

Sorry for going of course Oldbather!
Islay, the weight gain was due to clinical depression when I just lay down eating MullerRice, and never left the house for 6 months. Then I was given steroids before the chemo. I used to be an 8/10 now I'm a bleddy size 16 :(

I found by accident that freezing semi-skilled milk makes it seem a lot creamier when it's defrosted. I don't know why.
You could compromise - semi in your drinks and whole on your cereal and in puddings and custard.
I agree with NoM and ducksie (?...on my phone and can't check back)...full fat is more nutritious. Don't worry about saturated fat...women of a certain age actually need more in their diets, and it's what fuels our our brain to some extent.
I live dangerously...and only drink coffee with double cream. ;-)
Baths, Dexamethasone is known for increasing appetite. We often give it to patients who are too poorly to receive chemo to boost their performance status.
So sorry to hear that Baths, I hope you are able to move about soon and move some of the weight to make you happier in yourself xx

Once again apologies for going of post!
Full cream milk every time for us. But it has to be organic. And if it comes in plastic bottles there is no problem in freezing it.
NoM, I don't know the name of the steroid, but we were all given an hour of it before Chemo. and yes, I know that extra weight comes from extra eating, but I use it as my excuse!

Islay, I'm doing my best to move about more, but I still keep walking like a drunk, and falling down a lot! Seeing a Neurologist in mid-March

OB: live dangerously, your better half will enjoy it.
._I have full milk, recently offered -- with yoghurt -- as a non-GMO foodstuffs.
_Elee: Thank you for the links.
I tried to google, but it seems it doesn't matter what milk to drink
