I'd say yes, just the threat of bird flu will push prices through the roof, but thats just my opinion.

i was just thinking this myself! They are half price in Morrisons. Probably not for long.....
Lets see if I understand this correctly, you are going to buy a turkey now with bird flue so that when you defrost it and the virus you can have bird flu for christmas.

I have to say Ward-Minter you are not the brightest star in the sky
Don1 get your facts right before you criticise! It has been widely reported that you cant get bird flu from eating birds!

don1 I am referring to buying one now incase they are not available this coming Christmas. Lets face it my dear boy, I consider this good preparation and sound fiscal policy.

I may not be the brightest star indeed, but when it comes to good family Christmases and a few extra quid in my pocket, no doubt I beat you hands down. Also I have a CSE in woodwork, so there!

theres two sides to the coin here..either there will be a shortage of turkeys because they may be culled, or there may be  an excess of turkeys because people will stop buying them believing (wrongly) that you can get bird flu from eating them.  Buy a nice British Joint of beef and have that instead!

Here's a link to a Q&A site on it:
