Why do all the top chefs season their food with a sprinkle of salt...surely just a small amount can't be tasted....can it ???

It brings out the flavour in the food
It can be tasted!! If you eat food with no salt and then food with a pinch of salt, it makes a real difference!
its what you get used to, my son has kidney probs and since he was born 12 yrs ago ive never added salt to anything you get used to it in fact salt on food now tastes disgusting.
