Just Eat Don't Deliver...

Just had a conversation with Just Eat about a local restaurant who we tried to get to deliver food. No, said the restaurant, we only do collections, not deliveries.

Asked Just Eat if this was 'on', as their adverts all say the opposite, and the person on Just Eat said 'Oh yes, some of our restaurants deliver, some only do collection'!

Amazing, ain't it. And I thought all those TV ads said something different....

One reacts to ads, and their claims/implications; few trawl through t&cs on a website. That's just a get-out.
//Order in a take away, it’s just a few clicks away” - thaat’s what its website says. //

A takeaway could be delivery or collection...
Just checked my postcode.

115 Restaurants

Clearly visible to the right of each

90 - Deliver
5 - Collect
14 - Preorder
6 - Currently offline

Having seen that I then have choices.

Plus, what is the point of going through Just Eat if you then have to go and fetch your grub?

Lots of guys in motorcycle helmets, can't see anyone picking up their own food.

Choose one from the list that delivers.
The point is it saves on having a menu in the drawer and having to make a phone call to an often engaged number.
On Just Eat all the menus are available...
I couldn't eat a whole one.

I sometimes think there should be a sobriety test round here...
People explaining how Just Eat works must be drunk because you don't agree with them?

That's quite insulting.

Try and understand rather than just restating your original position. It will help.
in my freezer i have 6 portions of home made curry and 4 portions of home made chinese meals ...i just eat when i want to!
If you feel their adverts mislead then contact the ASA, we have no power to change what they do or say.
Even in that advert it doesn't say that every single restaurant on the site provide a delivery service.
OH for goodness sake, give Banbrig a break, I think he gets it now.

Darcey: thanks for the support. Point is, incontravertibly, that all their adverts are about getting food delivered, not fetching it yourself!
