I don't drink coffee but husband got a Nespresso as a gift this Christmas - what a palaver, very temperamental and all the pods and paraphernalia that goes with it has made a mess of the kitchen. He likes the coffee though!
IMHO they are the most expensive way to make coffee that you can buy !

A simple stove-top coffee maker, or a plunger-type make far better coffee for a fraction of the price.

For the last 3 years, I have been using an Aeropress Coffee Maker, like this...its a variation on a plunger-type "cafetiere" ::::

I would recommend one of these to anyone...simple and straight forward, and it really is " The Best Coffee Maker I have ever owned"
I have just read your link. What a carry-on. I couldn't be arrised with that. Give me Nescafe Azera any day.
Jack....its as simple as making a cup of instant coffee. You put some ground coffee in the top, stir it around a bit, and then insert the plunger part and push...all done in about 4 mins.

I haven't used instant coffee for year. The Aeropress, or any other type of cafetiere, makes vastly superior coffee to any brand of instant. Its what you get used to I suppose.
I know someone who has had an aeropress for several years...he loves it.
A cheaper option is a good old bodum cafeteire...or a Pedrini coffee pot

Far too much messing about, give me Nescafe Original any day,
once kettle has boiled they don't call it 'Instant' for nothing!
Nescafe Azera is better than any other instant coffee. Tastes just like percolated. Pricey, but worth it.
Can't beat a moka pot, which makes much better coffee and much cheaper.
Recommendation.....don't bother - it's a very expensive way to enjoy coffee.
If you must get a machine, a bean-to-cup machine makes more sense...

I have a Nespresso and I love the coffee I get from it.
Yes the pods are expensive, I have resorted to buying Aldi pods and keep the more expensive ones for special.
It is not messy at all. Easy to clean. I have least one cup of Nespresso a day, my treat.
Garaman....I used a Moka Pot for years, and I still use on in the caravan. But since I bought my Aeropress, there has been no turning back !
If you want a strong instant, try Lavazza Prontissimo
Bean-to-cup machine. Jesus on a bicycle, have you seen the price of them? They range from £225 to over a grand!
^^^maybe pricier to buy, much cheaper to run and choose exactly the coffee you like....
I don't drink coffee, but OH does. We have a bean to cup machine. Quite expensive to buy - a couple of hundred I think - but then about £4 for a bag of beans.
Treated myself to a bean-to-cup machine not that long ago. No tie in to the consumables. Works for me so far.
Dulce gusto - buy the pods online better range and cheaper - no mess no palaver!
Love it - had it for 3 years now
we have a tassimo ,great machine and we buy the pods at asda 3 packets for £10 .the americano grande and columbian are our favourite x
We have a Jura bean to cup machine which we use a LOT, we also have a pod machine which we hardly use at all because although the bean to cup was a expensive outlay the beans are relatively cheap compared to the pods which I think are astronomic, but it works well and is a Nesspresso Vertuo, so I can recommend in the sense it's easy to use and works well. xx
