Dogs In Restaurants?
95 Answers
Do others think that all dogs (apart from guide dogs obviously) should be completely banned from restaurants? I do and would avoid any restaurant that claims to be dog-friendly as these smelly creatures have no place near food.

There is a B&B near me whose adverts say it is 'Dog friendly on request'. That amuses me :) "Oh, we forgot to ask them to be dog friendly."

Stringfellow - not my fave human being on account of the mullet - replied to two Australians who complained that he was dining with a wolfhound ( not on ON the wolfhound - I have to be careful I am on AB ) and dear Stringy said
'The dog is better behaved than a lot of Australians who come in here.'
Stringy was at the time owner of the eaterie - Stringfellows
Evershot - middle of nowhere dear boy - Darzet
Eversholt in Hardy - Tess ( of the d'Urbervilles , that is ! ) had breakfast there on her way to Emminster (*) - or Beaminster that is ! - The Acorn ( Inn that is! ) is dog friendly and if you want a dogless dinner then they send you across to their other establishment - Summer Lodge.

You get charged a fiver just to walk through the door of the café down the road from me. Why? Because they've got cats, of course!

mamy: //Not quite following that logic TTT - would that apply to other situations. // - the basis for not allowing dogs is that they are "smelly etc", unhygienic, etc, guide dogs are no different but they are allowed, I assume, because they have a useful function. QED it is illogical to ban dogs on the basis of hygiene if you make exceptions for functionality.
Hang on a minute....has anyone thought of the poor dog?? They surely don't want restrictions in a public human environment! They don't ask for involvement! Ruddy humans think they know best ...do they consider their animals? Not in my opinion. If you want a mel in. Public place then go...leave the animal at home they don't want to be restricted and if you think they..you are wrong!
Leave animals at home for these occasions...also for beach visits in blazing sun. Enjoy yourselves BUT if you have an animal....consider it rather than yourselves. They need a life too.
