Suitable for vegetarians?

Are prawn crackers suitable for vegetarians? Is it just a flavouring or actual prawns that go into them? Odd question but i need to know the answer!!

At least some (and probably most) prawn crackers contain prawn meat. See here:

I did find one reference to 'vegetarian prawn crackers' on the web. I won't quote the URL as it takes ages to download just to see that someone referred to them and wrote "finally, after years of searching, I finally found some, yippeee! ". This suggests that they're available ( at least in some parts of the world) but probably hard to find.

splodge, if you are talking about the rubbish that is sold in chinese takeaways in Britain the answer is no, the only thing this can be used for is packing material, you know the kind of thing you use to pack your bone china in when you are moving house.

It is chemical flavouring only, the same kind of trickery that makes people think they are eating meat when they buy a "beef" burger

It might be worth finding out what kind of oil they're cooked in.
