Does anyone know if you can use any other pods in this machine that would make it cheaper to use if so where can I buy them from

I cannot answer your question directly but....
I bought a pack of ten nespresso compatible pods for my nespresso machine. Three did not work.
I stick to the ‘proper’ pods now.

We get them in Lidl, Alcampo, Mercadona. Just look at the packaging and it will say compatible with Dolce Gusto. I have found only one make that didn't work, I can't remember the name.

The ladle ones are very nice also look on Groupon, but I tend to buy the official ones direct, still cheaper by a mile than buying my starbuck everyday
