In the past I’ve done all kinds of veg, never Yorkshire puds though, including spiced red cabbage, mashed celeriac, leeks in cheese sauce...
This year however, with all the family here and having asked what their favourites are, I’m reverting to tradition so we’ll be having sprouts with pancetta and chestnuts, carrot and turnip mash, roast potatoes and roast parsnips. Oh yes, and a few peas for the pea lover.
There’s an article in The Guardian which says never serve Yorkshire puds with Christmas dinner, always wear a party hat, one type of potato is plenty, and never run out of gravy :)
