Not interested in the slightest as I never use such outlets.
The closest I get to fast food of that ilk is treating myself to a noodle ‘hot box’ and dashing home with it on my bike!
I do however have reams of flyers from said local outlets that are the main content of my paper recycling bag.
Just eat don't do takeaway, they merely run a website for those that do so any hygiene issues are down to the individual outlet so bypassing just eat won't solve that. The 14% they take must be acceptable to the outlets that sign up. I assume they sell enough extra to cover those costs.
I always have, and always will avoid them. I usually know where i want to order from, so i'll ring the take out directly instead of going via just eat.
Regarding hygiene standards, that's up to the restaurants, but i guess just eat doesn't even take that into consideration.
Just eat are not the actual food prepper they are the middle man taking your order and payment as a lot of the smaller takeaways don’t take card payments.
They are not responsible for the hygiene rating of a takeaway, if the ratings are that bad then perhaps environmental health should be shutting them down.
^ i disagree.. it's a third party that collects a selection of restaurants in certain areas, anyone with a mobility issue i'm sure can still ring the take out place directly. Just eat is for those who don't know what they want, because if they did surely they'd ring directly?
Can also be a distance issue. You're so many mikes away from your particular favourite takeaway and don't have a viable means of getting there. Why not pay someone else, more capable of making the journey, in those cases?
^See a lot of them around here. They are a food courier service (on mopeds) I`ve never used them - they mainly deliver fish and chips, pizza, chinese and indian.
I used them a couple of times when I've moved to a new house. It's convenient because at a glance you see who delivers and a full menu. Not all the local takeaways round here have an online presence so from that respect it was very useful.
Now, however, I just call the restaurant direct.
And perhaps having your food delivered is lazy. I'm happy with that label. Tbh, the last thing I want to do when I have just walked in at 8pm after a 3 hour drive is get back in the car to go and fetch food. I can shower and have a glass of wine and by the time I've done that the food arrives.
