I’m going to make naanwiches on the weekend - what can I put with whatever curry filling I use to bulk them out a bit and what could I serve with them to make it more of a meal?

Onion bhajees, samosas?
Never heard of a naanwich, how do you make them?
What about some Bombay Potato, and a salad of chopped cucumber, tomatoes and red onion.

I presume you just put some curry filling inside a naan and fold it over - soon find out if it works :)

Maybe mix some mont sauce with plain yogurt to dollop on. And some mango chutney.

I think I’m going to go with some green stuff with the curry filling (currently going for butter chicken) to make it look healthy and a side of bhajis and samosas.
Sounds good sherr, very sloppy sandwiches really. I do love a sloppy fingerlicking sandwich :)

The kids love trying new stuff and are up for most things, especially something a bit odd - if himself is not happy he’ll just have to suck it up :)
I've never heard of it but I'm sure my boys will now be taking them for lunch. You could put anything in them.

Not sure how shop bought naans will be received (they are only used to takeaway ones) but it’s just something different (I’m bored now they’ve gone back to school and I’ve put all the Lego away so I’ve fallen back to finding ‘new’ meal ideas).

Yes, I did - wasn’t paying much attention so I don’t know what they put in theirs.
dunno about a naanwitch, but I used to do pitta bread stuffed with sliced lettuce, tomatoes, chicken and coleslaw.
(usually for lunch)
If going for dinner, add pakora (please, I love pakora!!)
The naans had curry flavoured meat (chicken, turkey and bacon)
I make naanwiches quite often but use something like peri peri rather than curry.


I serve that with a spiced up (thinly sliced garlic and chilli peppers) tomato, cucumber bell peppers and spring onion salad with olive oil and white wine vinegar. I would also use thinly sliced white cabbage and iceberg lettuce with a squeeze of lemon or lime in the naan.

Thanks for that Talbot - I need to take into consideration everyone’s preferences and I’m going for squishy, comfort-type food (that involves minimal effort on my part).
