Last Shop
43 Answers
We’ll be doing ours on the Thursday before Christmas. These days all the milk, cream, perishable stuff, has long use by dates so that won’t be a problem. And all the veg keeps very nicely in the cold in the garage.
When will you do your last food shop before Christmas?

It's also a bonus that his boss pays for it :-) Goose and Duck this year that are in the freezer. Nibbles are in the freezer and cheese already in the fridge.
I'm going to attempt to make some Eggnog. Never tried it. And a dessert. Just need to buy some veg and booze.

I'll be on my own at Christmas, so I don't have a lot of food shopping to do anyway. I'll probably nip down to the Budgens three miles down the road a day or two before Christmas and buy a small selection of these:

(I've only got a 'table top' freezer, so I can't buy my Christmas stuff until there's a bit of space in it).
I'll also call into Asda to buy a frozen giant Yorkshire pudding. One of those, with something like slow-cooked rump beef in brandy in it will do me for Christmas lunch. (I might do some veg as well but I didn't really need it when I did something similar last Christmas).
I'm already stocking up on things like Stollen and panettone. (I'm looking forward to trying this. I hope it's worth the money! https:/ /www.la keland. co.uk/6 2207/Bo rgo-De- Medici- Gin-Dru nken-Pa nettone -500g ). So I just need to get some good quality cheese and probably some booze too (but don't tell the hospital consultant!) and I'll be all set up for Crimbo ;-)
