We’ll be doing ours on the Thursday before Christmas. These days all the milk, cream, perishable stuff, has long use by dates so that won’t be a problem. And all the veg keeps very nicely in the cold in the garage.
When will you do your last food shop before Christmas?

I only do a food shop once a fortnight anyway, so will do the same with just a few treats - delivery slot booked for the 19th.

I don't waste food much at all.
Mmmmm, treats....
23rd for the Turkey Crown and veg, I’m having a home delivery for the rest a week Thursday
Anyone have problems with stuff not being delivered? Or stupid substitutions..?

I ordered live mussels to be delivered today and it was only last night it said 'product unavailable'
Is it too late to send Christmas cards to Ireland? :-)
You should be fine to rend your cards Ummmm.
Yeah, tear 'em up...
I'm picking up the turkey from the butchers on Christmas Eve but husband will do the main shop, probably Mon 23rd but we've been getting bits and bobs for the last couple of weeks so won't be too big a shop.
I’m doing a normal shop on the Thursday before Christmas, with stuff we need, not a panic buy, shops will be open soon enough , yes I’ll do the Ch dinner one but other than that, no change
I get a delivery twice a week anyway but there won’t be any wasted food here. I just get what I know will be eaten.
Sorry foe the typo Ummmm. :-)
Snitter...
I've just had a brainwave :-) Daughter and youngest son are both heading back. I'll just give her money and she can buy cards and presents at the airport. MIL only lives a 15 min drive away...sorted.
No..that's bad!! I'll buy the cards, she'll recognise it's not my handwriting :-)

I do get on with my MIL...
I love the leftovers. Bubble and Squeak on Boxing Day. Mmmm...
Do you use all the veg? I've only had it with cabbage and spuds...with cold gammon.
25th December probably, I often do.
Chop all the veg up fine, bit of sweated onion, mash and/or crushed roasties, fried shallow util just a bit crusty then put a fried egg on top. Serve with a banger, bacon and beans.
Hungry now...
For Cloverjo - like you I love bubble and squeak. Every week I get an email from Lidl with the bargains for the week and last week they put a recipe on for Indian spiced bubble and squeak with cranberries and chilli flakes in and served on toasted soda bread. Oh it looks delicious. Just google Lidl indian spiced bubble and squeak and take a look. Sorry not sure how to do links. Maybe someone will help out.
I wouldn't eat that shoota. Although I can understand why people do.
