We've just eaten meatballs, tom. sauce (home grown and frozen) and spaghetti with grated cheese on top for about £1.50 for 2. Christmas dinner comes in a bit dearer, but we are pushing the boat out - veg. all home-grown. Probably (just been to check price of turkey breast roast) about £5 each all in - possibly £6 if I add in cheese course and include power to...

With a large hammer I could, interesting bubble and squeak ;-)

Enjoy.
no, i went totally overboard on my online order
45 quid, but that does include 9 quid for a bottle of
decent fizz.. also i have guests coming on C Day
for an hour to help me celebrate my birthday....
No I can't beat that.

Spent probably too much, but that did include a bottle of spiced plum and clementine gin. (from Aldi)
Not a hope.

The meat for our Christmas dinner costs £55. That's for 4 people. Then we have the party foods in the freezer and cheeses etc.

£55 just for meat for 4 people ummm ?
Yes but there should be plenty left over.
Well that’s acceptable. Boxing Day dinner is great, no pressure.
We spent more than that, a fair bit on booze, but fridge and freezer is full and leftovers will last us most of January
We are having a piece of beef Christmas day which was £12 and a Gammon joint which was £10. All in All total food shopping was around £75
Tony, ummm was quoting price for meat not a full Xmas shop.
Turkey and stuffing crown £10. Serves 8. Just 6 of us.
annea yes that was just meat, total shop was just over £200, fortunately it's just once a year.

Rediscovering cooking would be a good thing all round. I got chucked out of D.S. at school and was told to try needlework.... then chucked out of that and found my slot in Art.
Strangely (needs must principle) I learned to grow food, feed kids and clothe them by my own, once fair, hands. Still painting. :)

I've got the urge to pop down last thing and see if I can snap up some mince pies, for around 50p, and really live it up. :0)
Inexpensive - but it isn't Christmas dinner.
teacake, Aldi do 6 mince pies for 59p - really good, just had one with some natural yoghurt :)

Incidentally, Aldi seem to be doing particularly well this Christmas, whereas when I called in to a Lidl last week you could almost see tumble weed blowing down the aisles.

@ 23.10 ? but I will be eating it on Christmas day.
Enjoy.

Same at our Lidl, don't think it will be long before they hit the wall
I forgot to get brussels. I hope there are some left tomorrow.
